Building Community Through Student-Centered Events (Conference Call Back - Highly Rated 2026 Conference Session)

Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

How can an event become a catalyst for building stronger community connections, advancing student opportunities, and creating lasting advocates for your schools?

In this session, participants will explore ways to design events that go beyond celebration, turning them into strategic communications platforms that amplify student voice, engage the broader community, and inspire meaningful calls to action. The session will also highlight how events can act as catalysts for family and community engagement, providing FACE teams with powerful opportunities to connect with families and advance equity and inclusion.

We will look at a case study of how Solano County Office of Education reimagined its Red-Carpet Film Premiere to elevate student voices while advancing a broader communications strategy. The event was recognized with an NSPRA Golden Achievement Award, a reflection of the students, families, partners and staff who made the event meaningful and enahnced student outcomes.
