Join San Diego/Imperial Region's Lunch & Learn Ask the Media Event on June 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Dieguito Academy, located at 800 Santa Fe Dr, Encinitas, CA 92024. 

Attendees will be able to connect with some of the best journalists in the region and gain insights on how to improve the success of their media relations and outreach programs. Our media panelists will provide tips, answer questions, and provide feedback on your current story ideas. 

At this Lunch & Learn, you will hear from: 

CBS8 reporter Shannon Handy, Emmy award-winning journalist at CBS San Diego, recognized for her impactful storytelling and reporting across the San Diego region. 

ABC 10 San Diego reporter Dani Miskell, Emmy award-winning journalist with eight years of news reporting experience covering stories that matter to the community. 

KPBS reporter Katie Anastas, An education reporter who covers preschools and TK to universities and community colleges. 

Moderated by Giovanna Castro and Howard Shen, San Diego/Imperial Region CalSPRA leaders. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
