Telling your school district or COE's story is a key component to a successful communications strategy. It can not only better inform your parents and key partners, but increase engagement and draw attention to underserved programs while highlighting outstanding students and employees.
The Merced County Office of Education has published annual reports with in-person events for more than a decade and won multiple CalSPRA Awards of Excellence for the printed report and unveiling event. This session will dive into creating a compelling and interactive state of the district/annual report that includes video, printed and interactive reports, guidance on hosting an in-person event and tips on sponsorship to make the event budget neutral. About the Presenter -
Nathan Quevedo is a Central Valley native and serves as Communications and Public Relations Officer at the Merced County Office of Education, where he has worked since 2006. Nathan oversees internal and external communications, along with Merced Education Television (METV) which includes video production and PEG TV stations, student and special events, social media and graphic design, MCOE’s website and full-service printshop. He also serves as MCOE’s spokesperson and manages the MCOE Professional Development Conference Center. Nathan served on CalSPRA’s Executive Board from 2015-2020 and helped expand the extended board by creating more Regional Chairs. Nathan is an avid dog lover and has volunteered as a writer for the Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California since 2014. He also enjoys recreational running and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada.
