Thursday, February 6, 2025 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (PST)

Description

The political landscape and changing demographics in public schools has forced school communicators to go beyond feel-good news. This daunting reality is challenging for communication departments of one. Learn how to play the game of education politics and forge strategic partnerships to maximize your effect and help you checkmate your district’s opposition, more than once!  Understanding the game, knowing the local, regional, and national players, and strategically leaning on one another has helped school communicators in Southwest Riverside County (Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, and Temecula) plan their communication priorities and positioned them to checkmate in a game that highly publicizes and politicizes public education. This panel discussion will share the winning strategies, and partnerships that have helped school communicators in Southwestern Riverside County maintain parent trust; guide internal decision making and strengthen collaborations with local leaders.
